Reading the trade-off correctly

You are buying quiet on the understanding that it may not last. That is the honest framing: the same build-out that filled Canggu is moving north, and a rice field opposite today is a plot with a permit tomorrow. Everything else costs time — the school run, the supermarket, dinner, all of it is a drive, and the airport is far enough south that a morning flight means leaving before dawn. The surf on this stretch is less forgiving than the beginner breaks further down the coast.
